OK am getting a brand new EvoIII 16g from my bud. I was wondering if i could use my stock exhaust manifold and o2 housing with this turbo? I will have it at stock boost..no fuel upgrades yet. I was just saying if i REALLY had to get the EvoIII manifold and o2 for this turbo instead of my stock stuff. ANY help is appreciated..thanks.

Yes, but you're going to need a 16G install kit for your 2G. RRE and several other vendors sell kits that make the process a bolt-on affair. I would definitely recommend getting both the ex. manifold and 02 housing ported before putting it all back together.

Can i just install the turbo for now? and get the stuff ported later? Why do they need to be ported?

Better flow, not porting would lose you some of the power gained... Kinda liek one of those things where it is one step forward, two steps back... DOn't get me wrong, you will be gaining, just not quite as much.

Porting will definitely let your turbo breathe better. The nice thing about a EVOIII 16G, is that it's already ported vs. a standard Big 16G, which most spend a significant amount of time porting. You're going to want to port-match the exhaust manifold flange and the 02 housing to the turbo, otherwise you're not enjoying the turbo's attributes. Yes, you can bolt up the turbo without porting, but my question to you is why? And you mention you don't have any fuel mods for the car either. You're going to be testing the limits of your stock fuel system with this turbo, possibly leading to engine damage associated with lean fuel mixtures and knock. I would wait until you have your parts lined up to put the turbo in the car.

Well i have an oil feed line leak on my t25 right now..so i want to fix that so i just want to replace the whole turbo itself and the lines while am there.

The most important reason you want to port a 16g is to reduce boost creep, which is notorious on the 16g. By opening up the area near the wastegate entrance, you'll help cut down on the creep that can cause disaster to befall your engine.

Even the Evo3 16g needs porting; You may be thinking of the Evo3 GT turbo which is already cast ported.

Replacing the oil feed and drain lines is highly recommended. You could use the old drain line if you file the bolt holes a little closer together, or you could just order a new one in a kit. You'll also need a J-pipe. You'll be fine with the stock manifold and O2 housing.
