hello, everyone I like to know on my 95 talon tsi, if I add a manual boost controller what is a safe zone to turn the boost up to on the stock turbo. my mods are now a 3in high flow cat and 3in exhaust from turbo back, and I also have a injen intake with filter and a fmic and piping ### let me know thanks for the info

Do you have an aftermarket boost gauge? You mod list says stock, so i assume no. If not i wouldnt touch the boost, how would you even know how much your changing it?

Get a aftermarket boost gauge, a wideband o2, and a logger then you will know for sure.

yes, i forgot to put that i o have an aftermarket boost gauge

Do you plan on getting link in the near future? If not then id buy a logging cable online somewhere and use one of the free loggers out there. Its a must have imo. Then you can watch directly whats going on and how much boost you can get away with.

A wideband is still the next step though. That will also tell you exactly how much boost you can get away with.

A general rule of thumb though is on an otherwise stock set up, 15psi is a safe number.

Isnt your car creeping with the 3" turbo back?

As a rule of thumb I tend to watch knock more than anything when deciding to up the boost. Basically get your ecu chipped to convert your factory boost gauge to a knock gauge or get link or some other way to monitor knock. Then I will up the boost as high as I can before I start to see knock. Obviously you need to watch your afr's with your w\b as well, but if your afr's are good with no knock you are good to go,within reason obviously. Keep in mind the mechanical shape of your car as well,i myself would not be comfortable going much over 20lbs without arp's on pump gas.just up it in 1-2lb increments to be safe. If you are on stock injectors I doubt yoi will be able to get away with more than 14lbs safely.
