universal O2 sensor not a good idea??

I need a new o2 sensor for my talon. I went to autozone and checkers and it looks like both of em only carry a universal one for my car. The guy at autozone says (which could mean nothing) that the universal one will suck for my car. Is this true? has anyone had any problems with a universal one? The one he was talking about is made by bosch. There is a place here where I get my ngk plugs .. they may carry the o2 sensor as well. Should I just get the NGK one? Is it bad to get one that needs to be spliced into the original connector?

Any help will be appreciated.

just get the oem sensor. You can get the Bosch, and it will work, but you still have to splice the wires to the old plug. Conicelli carries the factory 02 sensors for pretty cheap as compared to the normal dealerships

just get one thats fits the car i got mine from oxygensensors.com and bought the socket took me 10 min to chnage

www.sparkplugs.com has denso OE and universal ones for cheap. Cheaper than the OEM ones.

Univeral=Bad idea. Your O2 works on voltages and if your soldering is not up to snuff you could get inacurate readings. I'm sure there are people who have made this work but it's not worth it when the OEM one is not that much more if you look around.

actually ive never seen sombody try and solder one together the bosch one comes with wire connectors that are fully enclosed when you are done.. however I think I will buy the NGK oem style one. I found it cheaper and its the whole oem 02 sensor (no splicing) Thanks for all the help guys .. it was much appreciated.
