this is sort of a review/recommendation, but EVERYONE needs to get these
the car feels so much better then stock, its not even comparable

there is MUCH less sloppiness in the shifter and it feels much better shifting

i have RRE poly base bushings, and dsmparts underhood bushings, cost about 50 bucks total for all of them, and worth every penny

if you want to make the car fun again get some of these

that is all

about how long did it take for the whole job - I've never replaced any

Its hard to say for me casue I did the cables at the same time, but it is super easy and makes shifting much nicer. One of the best mods I have done to my car.

i installed my base bushings before installing the underhood bushings. my shifter feel after installing the base bushings improved dramastically, on the other hand, i couldnt tell a difference when installing the underhood bushings. therefore, i wouldnt install one again unless the stock ones are cracked.

use 4 washers and 2 rollerblade bearings. free. exact same result.

Same here, the only hard part was pressing the bearings in...I broke a clamp so I just went Hulkster on them with some vice grips and finally got them in.

I have roller blade bearings and the RRE bushings and everything shifts great. After the RRE shifter base bushings, the shifter was noticably louder. But its a great trade off for smooth shifting.

the stock bushings in the engine bay get worn down and very sloppy after awhile (just like prothane motor mounts-same idea)

if they are old replacing them with new ones is going to make a bigger effect then cars that dont have as many miles on them

I have some shifter base bushings that I can't use. I have a 1990, but they are a different base than all the others.

If anyone wants them, I'll give them to ya for $10. They're high quality, precision cut, they just don't fit my car. I gotta grab some new ones for my 90. I got them off of ebay from "speed source"

PM me, or Email me. [email protected]

BTW: I installed the under-hood bushings, and noticed NO difference.

Can you go a little more into detail on that? Washer, bearing, Washer, cotter pin on each cable? How well do the bearings fit? I might be doing this as well since my stockers are messed up...

Washer bearing Washer, dont forget the cotter pin. You will need vice grips or something similar to squeeze them in, It's a pretty tight fit but it works great!
