i have a g4cs stroker motor, eagle crank, rods, wiseco pistons. and built head etc.
The guy who owned the car before ran the car with the oil galleries to the balance shafts unblocked. he said he never had turbo oil pressure issues or oil pressure issues. I have the whole engine together minus the timing belt. what do you guys think i should do? i have built many 4g6 motors before and blocked the oil passages. but of coarse killed the turbos short after.
The motor blew up before and killed rod journals 2-3 due to the crank being previously bent. has any one else ran their motors with unblock b.s oil passages? the turbo blew from oil contamination and and being sent back from pte with a new chra.

I thought that the oil would drain back into the pan. but i also know that the balance shafts are pressure lubricated and thats all accounted for when the engine was designed. but would not blocking the b.s passages greatly reduce the oil pressure to the main and rod bearings?

Running with oil gallies from the BS open would drain all the pressure from your engine and cause catastrophic damage , i would plug them for sure and do some porting to lower the pressure for the turbo. If u have less than 11psi at hot idle you are on serious problems.

Here are some links.

If that doesn't work you can heat/compress the spring in the oil pump housing to decrease more oil pressure.

i was also thinking if i got the bs block off's, has any one tried to drill a small hole in a bs block off to restrict but not eliminate oil flow?

I had the balance shaft bearing spin on my and it crushed up in a spiral like shape. I pulled the oil pan off, removed the shaft, threw away the bearing and cleaned the shavings out of the pan, flushed oil through the top of the engine put it together and did another oil change. I never put a new bearing in there. I basically just did a balance shaft delete with a stub shaft and it's be fine for a few thousand miles.

I have a 4g64 with no balance shafts. I wish I left the front one in. What I did instead was to take out the block off bolt they install when they drilll the oiling hole for the bearing, and install a longer bolt that partially blocks off the oil passage. I still have high oil pressure though, even after porting the OFH twice. Next oil change Im going to clip a coil off the spring and see if that helps..

The rear shaft is lubricated throught the shaft itself. There's no oil passage to the bearing in the block, so it's ok not to replace it or put another one in.

That's right, your right. Yeah i remember now the rear bearing was solid with no oil passage. Not sure if i remember from doing the BSE kit or just from looking at the one on the block i've been working on lately. Guess that's why it's been ok with no issues ;)
