I'm new here to DSM Tuners. ( posted a long ways back, but owned a lot of 3/S's. I have a VR-4 currently that I've had since 03. ) Anyways, I picked up a 98k mile Talon TSI AWD 4 bolt LSD car in immaculate condition. When I picked it up the ECU was fried and the car wouldn't start.
I got it home and swapped in a spare ECU i had and it fired up instantly. I drove it around the neighborhood and then began to pull the motor and everything to swap it to a manual and do some upgrades. ( EvoIII everything. Turbo, 02, manifold. ) Just a decent street car.
Anyways, I was pulling stuff apart to do the timing belt and oil pump when I pulled the pan and found this sitting at the bottom of it.
This is where it was supposed to be...
I've inspected everything over and over and over, and the oil came out clean, the motor ran fine when it was in the car. No idea what oil pressure was as the car just has notches, it probably should have been higher. I'll pull the caps off and inspect the bearings later. After looking over everything I saw no damage to the crack, rods, nothing.
Anyone ever see this happen before?
I'm so used to the 6G72 and have never had to deal with nonsense like this.
