UEGO, before or after flex?

I just finally got myself an AEM UEGO wideband system for my 2G GSX. I have read numerous times on this site and others that you should place it before the flex but i also read once or twice that you can place it after the flex but make sure it's before the cat. Now, i have a 3" VRS exhaust that i put on about a month ago and i am not using the rear O2 bung, since i have no cat could i use that rear O2 sensor bung and be alright instead of taking off the entire downpipe and having a new bung welded? And either way, what would be some advantages/disadvantages?

Just so there is not cat before it, I think you should be fine. The advantages would be; since its further back from the turbo, there should be less heat so the sensor should last longer. The disadvantage would be slightly delayed readings. I dont think that it will loose any accuracy.

IMO, if it fits, go for it

Would the delay in readings be large enough to affect my logging and tuning with DSMLink?

4 of us run ours before the flex right around the oil pan area. Two of them are 2g the other two are 1g guys. We have not had any issues and these are on one 2.4l and 3 2.3l motors.

I run mine after the Flex which is 36" from the Turbine outlet just like the directions state.

It will be fine in the rear o2 bung, and you won't have delayed readings. Do you really think 5ft of distance instead of 3ft would cause a delay? Its the same reading, just less heat. It will definitely last longer being further away from the motor.

How do you figure most of the tuning shops run widebands at the muffler exit during dyno tuning?

The directions say to place the sensor 36'' or more away from the turbo

Make sure you have 0 exhaust leaks too.
