type Rs BOV mounting

I just got a type Rs Blow Off Valve and it has no installation instructions. Does it matter how far the BOV is from the throttle plate. I was thinking like 15 inches from the throttle, but I dont know.
and I just got my wastegate and I have some idea of how that hooks up, but I have all these wierd looking eyelet fittings that I have no idea what all of them are. does anyone no what im talkin about? I have this maual boost pressure knob....how does that hook to the wastegate? and can I mount that knob in the car. I need some kind of diagram for the installation of the BOV, wastegate and boost controler

15 inches is a good place to put the bov. As far as your wastegate there are a few different ways to hook the boost controller up to it. I prefer leaving the top open and only using the side vacuum hose. run the boost controller inline with the side of the wastegate and your compressor housing. The eyelet things you are talking about are for the vacuum line to connect to. They should come with a bolt that has a hole in it. That is 1/8 npt thread. Those vacuum fittings are crap. Go to napa or home despot and get brass one-piece fittings (you probably want 90 degree). The fittings that came with your wastegate will work loose and you will spike boost which can hurt your motor. Good luck

Those come in real handy, especially when trying to explain something to somone on this forum.

Yeah thanks that Diagram helps so much... thats really what I needed to see. Its like you could explain it 10 times and I wont get it, but if i see a pic I can understand it!

The wastegate gets real hot. I tried locktite and had no luck. Just spend 2 bucks at the store and be done. For the piece of mind at the least.

Yeah that makes sense, I can't have things coming loose. So my other question is. Do I have to weld a small pipe from the wastgate to the downpipe? I dont have a welder .but I can take it to my friend so he can weld it. All I have in the wastegate kit is the flanges....so I guess I have to weld those to a pipe to put it together

You don't necessarily need to re-route the wastegate'a dump tube back into the downpipe; you can also have an open dump tube that empties close to the ground.
