Rear Strut Mounting Bolt

I was trying to replace the rear driver side strut...in the process of removing it I managed to strip the strut mounting bolt. I stopped and left it as was until I could get a replacement bolt so I could cut the old one off. I ordered the new bolt from Mitsubishi but I'm not sure if it's the right bolt. Should it only be about 2 inches long or less? If not, let me know so I wont cut the head of the stripped bolt until I can get the replacement bolt...this car is my daily driver.

Has ANYBODY replaced the rear struts on a FWD 2G Eclipse?
