twin engine 1g

I've seen this done with dual 427s, one powering each rear wheel on not much more than a frame with a seat on it and a glass bubble around it. Also there was a jeep prototype with dual hemis and a 0 degree turning radius a few years ago, its all really cool.

What a waste of money, 2 engines and only 600hp and 10s 1/4? Could have made 1 engine better for the money.

But each of those engines do not lose any potential to obtain higher numbers in the future. 2 motors = double the power, yet probably double the money as well.

The car is actually mine, I bought it off Vineet and reworked all the wiring, rear cooling, rear IC setup, fuel system, tuning, car now makes over 600whp ( around 800 crank ) and runs 10's without breaking a sweat ( only made 1 pass due to no cage ). Im sure with some cams/intakes/20g's it would run 9s easily and still drive much like a stocker

Hate to tell ya but yours is not the ONE AND ONLY. I do agree yours is the nicest I have seen but a local guy here has one that is streetable but he is still working a few of the problems out. Guy did it all in his garage by himself. Ill see if I still got a few pics of it.

I was searching Ebay just for the heck of it and came across the Twin Engine 1991 Talon.

eBay Motors: Eagle : Talon (item 250262112558 end time Jun-29-08 18:00:00 PDT)

Last time I heard anything about this car is when some guy on this site friend purchased it and was going through the car left and right to fix all the problems that it had.

If i posted this in the wrong section i do apologize

yeah that thing has got to be the most original and "custom" dsm out there. Definitely was a great job done on the car but I'd never buy it Id be so lost. I still really have no idea on how he got that to work, tranny wise, wiring, etc. LOL

Theres a thread on dsmtalk about this car. Pretty awsome project but like black91tsiawd said I'd be so gone through the wiring harness, custom fab. etc..

This should have been put to the hangout section.

Yeah No kidding LOL. I would be so lost working on that car. Not to mention the maintenance on it. I guess the original owner never got it tuned properly, he ran a mid or low 12's on a video "if i remember correctly". Still its amazing to say to least.

Hes running 12's cause he let off the gas at 1/8 through the track. He doesnt have a rollcage so if he goes over 11.99 he cant run the car anymore.

That is one sick car, but like said you would have to be very very educated with cars in order to keep it running.

Ahh, that explains it. Its been a while since i've seen the video. I was wondering why he wasnt running better times. If he had ran it up here it wouldnt have mattered. Last time I was at the Track they really didnt enforce the rollcage/helmet rule for cars 11.99 and below(at the Spokane Raceway Park). A friend of mine Evo 8 was running low 11's BUT that was 2 years ago.

I like the fact that 320whp can be a very reliable power level for one of these cars. Heck, in the long run, this would be a lot cheaper than building a single 640whp engine that breaks every year.

If something breaks on it what would you do?? Everything seems to be so rigged up that only the original maker could fix it.

So I wonder which would be faster, a 1000hp awd dsm or a awd dsm with two 500hp engines. Because yea the twin engine weighs more, but each engine is only pulling half the total weight right?
