So I wonder which would be faster, a 1000hp awd dsm or a awd dsm with two 500hp engines. Because yea the twin engine weighs more, but each engine is only pulling half the total weight right?

The twin engine car would still weigh more than the single engine car. I believe technically the 1000hp, single engine car would be faster, due to the fact that it would be lighter; both cars only make 1000hp each.

Now, how about a 1000hp, AWD, single engine, car vs. an AWD, twin engine, car with each engine making 1000hp; then you might want the extra weight to keep the car on the planet. :D

i had a sport compact mag a few years ago that had i twin motor tiburon. they needed the help.LOL

Hmm.
It doesn't generate as much horses as I thought it would.
About 400 at the crank?
Thats pretty bad.
I mean that's fantastic, but Shep can do way better with just his single engine.
Can anyone explain this?

well they build 2 nice motors but they are not running them as hard as they could.....the car has potential but for the amount of money into that thing is wasteful in my eyes LOL

I think its really all about the novelty.
But that 400hp at the crank... doesn't this car gotta have two... so that would be 400 per crank maybe?

No, he said 380 at the wheels.
So yeah, it's not 800 hp.
But if it were me,
Id tune one engine to have an awesome bottom end, and another with an awesome top end.
Then when 1 turbo lags, have the other one would spool.
Or something awesome like that.

whats the point? um to be different/showcase your work/get attention/because he wanted to. trying to make the argument "well he could make so much more power with just one engine fully built" is so lame im sick of people using it to bash unique projects. to each their own, i dont ask any dsm guys whats the point of building their dsm when thousands and thousands of dollars later my much cheaper literbike will still smoke it on the strip or on the course all the while being stock and getting better gas mileage. increasing your chances of death tenfold aint so bad ROFL

I guess, but it really seems like a waste, what did he say 5 years in the making?
5 YEARS to make a twin engine talon seems like a huge waste.
But to each his own as you said.
But I'm not sure how many people will see it your way.

Don't get too confused guys, things were quite different when this project started.

Vineet build the car and explained some of the background in that thread. Remember that those original posts are from 2003, and that was pretty close to the end for Vineet. He built it, got it running, ran it at two shootouts and then burned out on it.

The car is now owned by RevHard in Moline and that's who is selling it on eBay. The guys at RevHard have done some work to the car between when they bought it from Vineet and now.

Don't sweat it if you don't get it.

Was Vineet one of the first to do this? I know they're cloned up and all over eBay now, but his price was still a bargain. And having all the manuals in one place saves hours.

I don't know if anybody had done this for any other car back when Vineet and crew rounded up the manuals for the DSMs, 3000GTs, Stealths, and Galants to scan them. I do know that 99% of the eBay "backup manuals" for our cars were people copying the CD he produced.
