so i just got my turbo back from a shop here in chicago called landspeed where they did the rebuild. I installed the turbo hooked up all the lines correctly started the car and right away there was smoking coming from the exhaust so i thought i would let it sit for a while idling and took it for a test drive. and still there was smoke coming from the exhaust.. im at a loss??? can someone please help its my dd

the same thing happened to me it took two days of driving to stop smoking it was built up in my ic pipes, intercooler, cat and resonator just drive it for a couple of days and keep an eye on your oil level if the oil keeps burning after a couple of days then check the shaft play:cool:

Think of how much smoke a small amount of oil will make when it drips on your hot exhaust manifold.

Now think of how much smoke will be made when your turbine housing, downpipe, and catalytic converter are literally FULL of oil.

Give it time; check your oil drain just to be sure it is not kinked.

Depending on what kind of smoke you're getting it could just be the way the car is running but like jusmx141 said... just a small drop will make alot of smoke when you get white smoke/steam it's the same deal... alot of smoke for a couple drops. But, if you have a ton of oil left over from a recent issue it will take a while to burn off. I wouldn't exactly go around flooring it until it does but maybe try and seafoam the car. I had a friend do that to his and the extra steam helped clean out the whole exhaust system and the black smoke from the oil buildup was minimal and then non existant.
