My car came with a cheap SS turbo manifold. Sure it held up to the 16g turbo fine but I have a PTE 6262 turbo now and I want as much flow as possible and don't want to worry about cracking and what not. I stuck with the DSM/ OEM style flange so I didn't have to buy a new manifold but now I've decided it needs to be upgraded. So I'm trying to see what my options are. All the Full Race stuff I've seen is T3 and or T4 flange. Plus I don't really have the deep pockets for Full Race. So what options are out there.=? Also I have an external waste gate setup, Tial 44mm V-band. I would like to keep the wastegate on the manifold like the current manifold as opposed to the 02 housing. I would looking into making one, but I don't have a welder or near that kind of custom fab abilities :(

Here is the current manifold

Cannot run the waste gate off the manifold with a FP manifold.... But i am running the fp cast its one of the best for mitsu flanged manifold but no waste gate flange on it.

I'm not aware of any manifolds that are DSM Flanged with a 44mm V-band attached. It would need to be custom or use an adapter (which isn't a good idea).

However, the manifold isn't nearly as restrictive as that turbine housing. A T3 housing/manifold would be your best bet for increasing flow.

Well I don't really see a way around that now?

Also it doesn't necessarily have to have the V band wastegate. I can get the v band flange welded on fairly cheaply.

I would say a fp manifold, with a custom o2 housing would be your cheapest/best way out.

Not alot of options if you want to stay DSM flanged, and not get into some crazy expensive one off pieces. There are some cheap alternatives out there, but not anything that will last IMO.

You could buy one of these,
EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

Or you could run an evo mani, or fp mani and have a flange welded to the number one runner. I run the hafe manifold which has a two bolt 38mm provision on it. But then you would have to use an adapter which is advised against.

A 6262 w a dsm hot side....... Well, i agree with wes, that mani is the least of your concerns, flow-wise.
Is it an option to get a new t3 housing and just get an ERL or other t3 mani to go along with it? I think the performance gain would be well worth the investment. VS buying a DNP mani.

The boost control won't be as good and won't sound good off one runner imo.
Well, you either have control over your boost or you don't. I've personally never had a problem controlling boost with gating from one runner. I don't know anyone who has.

Long before the SBR manifold hit the market, DSMers (myself included) were welding gate flanges on the #1 runner of the factory manifold. It did exactly what it was supposed to do, and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again if I needed to.

FP Cast Manifold,

If you have to go get a new o2 housing its worth it. I run a FP cast Mani and a forged 44mm (found a guy selling 3" o2 housing and WG as a 150$ combo just cause he got a new set up and didn't need it anymore) wastegate externally recirculated on my 20g and absolutely it. look around, people sell those manis for about 150-180$ and you can find a decent deal on o2 housings and WG and come out spending less than 400$.

Well, I contacted STM and Precision and they said aslong as the turbo is in new condition(which it is) They would be willing to swap hot sides for no charge other than shipping the turbo. So now I guess I can get a t3 flange and with the input from urbansmoker get the .82a/r. I guess I was thinking the .63 a/r would help it spool a little faster. But with more air coming through the exhaust side it seems I was incorrect. Makes more sense now that I think about it. I was really just trying to stick with the DSM flange since that's the manifold I already had. I'd rather spend a little bit more and get the most out of the turbo however.

Good choice OP. I think you're going to be very surprised by the gains. It should feel like a different turbo with a freer flowing housing. Less backpressure is a good thing! Free housing swap? Good for you!
Damn, i might keep my lil 5858 and swap out for a T3 when i (finally) get my build going. Im sure theyll charge me though, mine has some miles on it.

Id get an FP manifold, pop the plug out of the turbine housing so that you can run the wg off the O2 housing, and get the Punishment Racing recirculated O2 housing flanged for that WG, IF you were going to stick to the DSM flange that is.

Well mine is still new, only been fitted for fitment, never spooled.

I think I'm going to swap hot side's so I can have a T3 turbo flange. And get the .82 a/r
