turbo flutter after recirculating my BOV

Why is my turbo getting backpressure now even though its all going right into the intake pipe.

Anyway to get rid of this?

Agreed, a overtightened Blow off valve will cause compressor surge. However having one too loose will cause it to open too soon or to just stay open all together.

You really have to find that right area.

Oh, and if anyone tells you tightening it makes it louder they are retarded. Not because it's not true though, but because they'd have you risk your turbo and your motor to have your blow off valve be louder.

Something that the recirculation tube itself can do is become kinked and not allow it to vent properly.

I think I'm having the same problem. I have a HKS SSQV3 and it sounds like compressor sure when it's recirculated but not when it's vented.

I also have the hks ssqv don't know which model though

Is this blow off valve adjustable?

And the tube is kinked somewhat but only where its tightend to the recirc tube.

I don't think they are adjustable. It says on the box that it is a pull type bov and from my understanding it does not need adjusting.

Its not surging, its the bov its self thats making that noise i also have the hks ssqv.

^ are you sure its the bov . And not the bov causing it (not letting there air out all at once.instead in a sequence.

Anyways is it going to kill my turbo in the long run.

I'd like to know too because I don't want to waste my turbo and I'm venting improperly because I thought I was getting surge. I've tried to read up on this and every thread doesn't have a for sure answer. It always seems to be 50/50 people saying it's surge and it's not.

The SSQV usually sounds like it's surging. It is sequential so I'd have to assume it's from the multistage purge it does.

As to why you'd only hear it after recirculating, did you change boost levels? The SSQV sounds different with different amounts of boost.

As for kinks I'd try to straigten it out and try to post a picture if possible.

Mine only surges if I'm boosting 1-2psi (light throttle) when it's vented but when it is recirculated it sounds like surge all the time (14 psi max). I don't change anything except the recirculation fitting and hose.

Question. How are your vac lines of the MBC and BOV set up? If your MBC line is T'd into the BOV vac line, then that's causing the BOV to flutter. Make them 2 SEPERATE vac lines.

Mine are separate, I used DSMtuners as my guide there are some awesome diagrams on here.

My vacum lines from the turbo to the MBC and from there to the waste gate could I possibly have the lines back wards but it raises boost perfectly fine.

I'll post a pic of the recirc tube. And I'll try running WG pressure.
