No definately not. Wether or not his porting worked is not a LIFE changing experience. Of course if it did work it will be quite an experience for him :thumb:. But where the hell is hammer? I wanna know if his EBC is bad or not.

Alright everything is back and im putting it all back together, and i am not going to have my exhaust back together but im going to run an open downpipe down the street, just to see if the creep is solved, ill let you guys know tonight, keep your fingers crossed, the guy at the machine shop took an extra day to get the bolts out, but he got them both and only charged me 20 bucks :thumb: alright ill post back later

Yea, i think it is bad. I unhooked the line going from the ebc to the wastegate and i can hold boost at about 18psi...which is weird when i have a 10psi spring..but it's better than going to almost 30. But i love my ebc so much... :(

Just one more suggestion, since turbo is a big part the the intake tract, I suggest performing a complete leak test before your WOT testing. You have already come this far, why not take all the precautions. Work at your own pace and don't let us rush you, the important thing is that it's done right. Results today or tomorrow really doesn't matter, I think I can handle another sleepless night. ;)

No need to wait. I did one already and it checked out a ok. I as planning on running about 18-20 psi anyway...i just wanted to make sure the system was ok at a lower boost setting first...but i'm going to play with the ebc some more to make sure it's not working...cause it was in the car when i bought it so i dont have the book or anything..so...and it's not in psi..but bars..so it makes me have to think...LOL

:tease: I was talking to Chad.

Alright guys I went out and floored it after letting everything warm um, and I have to say that unfortunately all the porting and hard work did everything it was supposed to, MY BOOST CREEP IS SOLVED! I was nervous as hell when I pulled out on the road and it took about a minute of driving before I built up the courage to go WOT, but when I did the turbo spooled up quicker, and I could feel a noticeable power gain from adding the test pipe, makes all the hard work worth it. Porting also completely solved my boost spike problem, my car used to spike about 2-3 psi when I went WOT, but now it goes to 15 psi and sticks there rock hard through the entire gear. Since I have an A/T when i used to gun it 3rd it would automatically downshift and the spike would be ever more severe, but now that has settled down to under 1 psi which is awesome, If anybody is having spike or creep problems, I highly reccommend this project, OLDMAN thanks for helping me through this, and if you guys think I should make this a Tech Article let me know because I think this is the most helpful creep article yet so overall I give this thread an A+ :thumb:

Sweet!! Good job! Now hopefully I can get my elec boost controller to work and we can all be happy!! But I also have to say that Oldman truely diserves the title wiseman! :thumb:

You bastard ROFL . Like looking at the last card in a poker game I was peeping through the first paragraph and I almost got a heart attack when I got to the word "unfortunately", you shouldn't F with old people like that. :nono:

A lot of that also have to do with the 7cm porting you did to the manifold and turbine inlet.

That is very interesting, I've never thought about that. I guess it's possible that with a direct path to the wastegat, air is being forced to take the path immediately instead of 1/2 second later. I'll have to keep this one in mind next time.

if you guys think I should make this a Tech Article let me know because I think this is the most helpful creep article yet
Definitely do it, don't wait for me because it will take forever. You're welcome to consult with me via pm if you have any questions.

so overall I give this thread an A+ :thumb:
Give yourself an A+ first, you did all the hard work. Happy boosting. ;)

Very nice, I see that you used the spell check this time. :p I think it's going to be very helpful to a lot of people out there. :thumb:

will all this porting cure the problem if I have a completly stock 14b? I have the same problem due to the 3" exhaust. If not should I try to get a 34 mm flapper while i have it opened up?

Yes, it will definitely work on a 14b as long as it's done properly. I've also done this on a small 16g without flapper upgrade and it worked flawlessly.

I know i'm bringing back an old thread... well, 2 months old...

But the porting on the evo3 16g from ExtremePSI looks similar to yours.

The flapper portion porting however does not look as good as Chad's. But i may just go ahead and order that evo3 16g with the porting job, and if i need to do it for the flapper, i'll just port it myself. Would i be better off just getting it with the 31mm flapper and porting where the hinge is? or should i get the 34mm and port if needed? i plan to get a boost controller with two settings.. whats the lowest boost i can run ont he 31mm flapper?

lowest boost you can run is dependant on the wastegate spring - this should be around 11 psi.

if your gonna run a 3" exhaust save yourse;f the trouble and get the larger flapper -- you dont have to you can port it.
