turbo cleaning

i'm using my old, dirty, 14b and i was looking at some ways to clean it up a little

i've found throttle body cleaner as one solution but i was wondering if there was anyothers that were commonly used

i'm mainly looking to clean the turbine on the exhuast side

I personally havent tried it, but im like 99% sure that brake cleaner will do the trick, it'll take off all that carbon build up in the housing. ive used brake cleaner to clean up my engine bay in certain areas and on the block near the water pump and crank.. came out really nice

synthetic steel wool pads work amazing. After you get all the bulk grime off with whatever product you use. Take something like this Amazon.com: 3M #10118 #0 Synthetic Steel Wool Pad: Home Improvement. It will really clean it up like new and bring some shine back.

There is nothing you can do to effectively clean the turbine wheel without disassembling the turbo and media-blasting the wheel and other hotside components.
