turbo cleaning ?'s

In a few weeks or so im going to be going full out on my tune up ,i will be doing all the neccesary stuff,but i few questions on how im going to clean the turbo.All i whant to know is once i pull the turbo off what should i be looking for as far as wear and damage,and how should i go about cleaning it ..i looked for a thread involving this and all it brought up was repainting valvecovers.
Ps its the stock 14b.

Look for damage to blades, shaft play, how well the turbine spins by hand....
