so i have been looking around and i see ALOT of people who convert their N/T gs or rs. i just curious as to how much that will fully run to do so ### idk if i considering it now.

"idk if i considering it now. " LOL that doesn't make sense, you don't know if you are considering it yet, well lets just saying you are considering it and move forward wit the idea of turboing a 420a

Well since you do see a lot of people who are converting their NT 2gs to turbos, I am sure there a several forums already devoted to this subject. In fact int he tech article section there is a complete guide to converting the 420 to a 420 turbo.

The last featured dsmer made 500 hp with a 420 block.

What are you hp goals? What is your budget like?

(my way of saying search the forums for you answers without saying "search")

^ +1 to both.

Facts :

1 : You can locate ALL of the information regarding this just by using the search bar at the top of the page. However, I will go ahead and share the following information : If you want to do it cheaply... it can be done for a couple hundred bucks, boast no performance gain, and blow your engine. If you want to do it correctly, then prepare to spend quite a bit of money for little performance gain, comparatively.

2 : While the 420a has been proven to be able to maintain a good bit of power, it took a LOT of work and a LOT of time. This also, of course, means that it took a LOT of money. You would certainly be better to just purchase a car with a 4G63T and go from there. Just 'Turboing' the 420a won't even get close to the stock performance of a 4G63T including it's reliability with perfect upkeep.

Ok see I would like to sell mine and buy another but no one will buy for even 2g becuase interior stripped ### of previous owner and all. Just about how much is it to turbo it? I wish could sell mine and buy new one but that won't happen :(

the kits run like 2k and up i believe.

putting together your own kit could be done for less than 1k.

but in order to even begin making the power the 4g63 can with basic bolt ons, you'll need to rebuild your 420a with better internals

Okay thanks. I thinkbibjuy slowly keep buying parts little by little since no one will buy mine. So yeah. Thanks. That's about how much I was thinking. I will start buying piece by piece ha

There is a guy selling a complete Hahn kit on 2gnt and here i believe. I think he wants like 1500(which is cheap)

Start by checking junkyards and see if u can get deal on sum Stock 2g interior then maybe try look around for a 2ga/2gb or anything that has a 4g63t motor in it or 4g64 spyders are nice as well
then try selling or trade in 420a just idea.. btw" maybe you should see if u can get sum stock OEM red Len's taillights at any junkyard i bet'your DSM would sell much quicker in the state it's in IF you Still plain to sell it. just my opinion and thoughts

Idk why my post got deleted but I'm trying to be helpful all the money you put in your rs could be spent on a gst or gsx and be way faster. A 420a arent meant for performance but if you want to blow your money go for it

I spent 1300 on my turbo kit, and as far as it not being as powerful as astock gst, id say that is up to debate, even running 7 lbs, it makes a HUGE difference

If you want to look at it that way, then why even buy an eclipse. You can buy other cars for cheaper that are faster. People that build the 420a know that its not as cost effective and the main reason being parts are not as abundant as for the 4g63. There are only a couple of people in it for the na guys. Your post was probably erased because it clearly states no sell it and buy a turbo car type of response. Anywho, now is the time to make the decision. Do you want to go down that fun road of making a car go fast thats not what everyone else is doing and be different, do you want to just do a couple of mods and keep it reliable and dd it, or do you want to sell it. In the end its up to you.

I've seen and heard this so many times.....:barf:

If you can't sell it just keep it and put on some neon lights on it a huge wing and be a ricer.....

By what your asking/saying you don't seem to want to put the time or effort into research and making your car a nice turbo DD, and you don't seem up to the task of fixing or replacing the interiors so you can sell it.

So my advice is go rice on it......:aha:

Leave the turbo to the big boys who read till it hurts and bust their hands working on the car to get it how the want it.....

After wasting about $3000 and loosin alot of skin off my knuckles,I have no complaints. It took along time to get all the bugs worked out,but I finally got the car runnin pretty good! There are acouple of guys in my neighborhood that own Gst's.After gettin a good look at my taillights, they dont want to play any more!I'm still runnin with stock internals, and 7lbs boost.I was able to keep up with my bosses brothers car. He's got a 71 camaro with a 350 stroked out to 383 with a supercharger at 12 lbs boost.I cant beat him,but I cant get no traction till I hit 3rd gear.Does any body know if MT drag radials are ok to drive around with frontwheel drive car?If so where can you find them at a reasonable price?

i want to DD it and still have some performance while i drive still but for the most part it will be a nice DD. THEN also buy another DSM and go all out balls to the wall performance! but for this rs it will be turboed DD.

woah woah woah uncalled for! i want turbo and not rice! however! i on tight budget and just want to start from ground zero! and i have been trying to find interior parts! but i want a dd but i do not want to rice it! so woah LOL

you'll find alot of flame here and there on this site . But I must say that if you don't want to do all the work and drop the cash to turn your RS turbo then my advice is fix whatever issues are going on with the car . You mentioned the interior . Not sure what you mean exactly is wrong with it ,but if you fix the interior to stock you cna probably sell it for 2k-3 k to some young highschool girl LOL just an idea . But do what you like man it's your car after all don't let anyone put down your ideas ,just do what you like . I mean i get flamed for my skirts and wing all the time and the front bumper ( but that was free so i wasn't going to say no to a free bumper LOL ) but hell I like my car it's fun to drive and everything

I'm not trying to flame you dsm96rs but I just am not convinced you are up for it......

Try being more informed before coming out with a thread like this, all the info you need is already here or on 2gnt.com. I was reading for almost a year on the forums before I even made a post, and always try the search before you post something. There probably is already info on what you need if it still does not help you then you can post a SPECIFIC and DETAILED question...

Don't let the turbo guys get the best of you a stock internal 420a with a good turbo setup will own most GST's out there with bolt on's......

+1 to this ^^^

How many threads have you started dsm96rs? All the information is in these forums already. To do what you're planning on doing with your car will require a little independence and self-drive. Try looking for the answers to your questions before posting. ;)

This question is too vague. Try posting again if you develop a more specific question to which you cannot find the answer after searching.
