trying to spin cams

i'm replacing my liftes right now, i got half of them in but now i'm trying the spin the cams to get to the rest, it will spin a little in either direction, but then i apply alot of force and it stops spinning. my car for like 30 seconds to pull it into the garage. i was wondering is it the new lifters are hard to press down or what, i don't want to break anything thanks

take out the plugs,and turn your engine at the crank,much easier..

or put your car in 4th gear and push..

I hope you still have the timing belt on. Your not going to have much luck pushing the pistons down using the valves otherwise.

When you install the lash adjusters you are to first fill them with oil and then bleed then down before installing them so that they aren't pumped up. The cam doesn't push them down it pushes the valve down.

i just had to take out the spark plugs then it turned over fine.

Cool, it's hard to tell what "alot of force" means.
