hey i am trying to depress my lifters and clean them or see if they are broken, i cant seem to get anything far enough down inside of the lifter top to depress it, i have a 2g but it appears i have the 1g lifters in my car as they have a tiny hole on top

Any new or properly cleaned lash adjuster will fix the ticking noise, no sense in buying new ones unless they are absolutely trashed. If the non-3mm-hole ones were such garbage then factory new cars would have ticked. It's just age. At some point in time the revised lash adjusters will tick just as bad. That hole is for oil to drain out of, it's not the oil source. Oil turns to laquer over time, so soak those pricks in some laquer thinner for a few days and then work them around and clean them out with some brake parts cleaner. They will be as good as new.

People always says "I got these new revised lifters and my ticking went away." My feelings..."No shit, it's a brand new part!"

You'd be better off finding some from someone that wanted the revised lifters and giving them a good cleaning. Even if you don't get a full set of 16 that good I'm sure there will be at least 6 that are good. The revision does not add more oil going into them. It's only 15 psi of oil getting to them anyway.

And to add, religiously changing oil will help keep any lifter in good shape for a long time :)

This.

I wouldn't wait 4k, it breaks down sooner than that depending on the way you drive and how often you drive.

No right after you pull them out of the car you should not be able to compress them whats so ever. Dont try with a vice or clamps or anything or else you'll collapse them. If you can't use a paperclip to compress them at all then do not use them.
