Hello, I am in the process of replacing my door handle. I was able to follow a tutorial in removing it but now when I am putting it all together, I am having some trouble. I have the door handle in (not screwed in yet) and I can't seem to get the key cylinder to go back into it's hole. The clip is in place and it appears that I should be able to just push the cylinder and snap it in but it is not budging. What is the best way to do this step? I am obviously doing something wrong. thanks!

I tried doing that and then I figured out my problem! The cheap Ebay handle I was installing had two little plastic pegs (from when it came out of the mold) that were not letting the cylinder go in completely. I took a small hack saw and took them off and then the cylinder snapped in first try. Thank you for the reply!

Someone definitely needs to do a metal replacement. I wish I had the resources to make them myself or a shop here that would. I had to replace my driver's side over the summer, don't want to be doing that again.

I had the exact same problem last week, I just cut them off with a small blade and it slid in great. The other door handle didn't have those pegs, but glad you figured it out.

Ya, this is the 3rd time replacing the handle but I had a friend do it for me the other times so I wasn't sure what I got myself into. They definitely need to make a metal replacement!!

I bought a 2g door handle repair kit here http://www.rcaz.com/rcaz/sub indexes/doorhandlefix/index.htm along time ago (before they sold out) which reinforces the handle using metal inserts. Hopefully this will be the last time replacing them. The lock cylinder thing was a pain but its that bolt you have to put in behind the window glass that is the real PIA!!
