Anyone ever installed the door lock hardware aka where you stick the key in..I have a empty hole on both sides of my car where the key is supposed to go.
auto place told me 380 bucks to fix them! OMG

let me know if anyone has any helpful advice I would like to avoid paying a huge price for this crapola

Its actually a fairly simple procedure. All you do is buy a set of locks keyed the same. The lock cylinder gets inserted in the door and there is a lock clip that holds it in place and then you have to hook up the rods that go from the cylinder to the latch mechanism and the lock handle. Hopefully all of your rods are still in place becuase if not you may have to go to a junk yard to find all the parts. The hardest part of doing this is getting your hands in the door after you remove the door panel. Sometimes it can be a tight fit but if you take your time you shouldnt have any trouble. Also sounds like the repair place was trying to rip you off. I work as a mechanic and I cant imagine it would take more than a couple of hours to do. Which up my way would mean $90.00 in labor. Keep us posted if you need more help. Travis

I think I will buy some where do you get them keyed the same?

also it's 80 bucks in labor per hour and the place said it was 1.5 hours per door plus 43 dollars a lock I think...arghh

alrighty well thanks for the info homie I htink i'ma try it myself I planned on painting my door panels anyways doubt any junk yards have the locks around here.
