I guess it's worn out or something,.. when I try to unlock the door, I have to play with the stupid lock to get it to open,.. is it easy to replace/ and where can I get an replacement? locksmith is my guess..

almost emberassing when it doesn't open and I have to unlock the passenger side door to get in..

I recently installed a alarm/keyless entry on my 2g and everything went fine and worked without any problems. I let the car sit for a while and then all of a sudden I try to unlock the door and the pass side will lock and unlock w/ the keyfob but not the driver side.
It will unlock halfway then not move. Won't lock or unlock.
Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Will it unlock and lock when you push the power door lock button on the door? If it doesn't, then your doorlock actuator probably needs replacing. If it doesn't even move when you manually push it, then pull the door cover and see if everything is connected properly and nothing is stuck.

When I hit the button on the door it still won't move, so I know it's not the keyeless entry. If I manually push the lock it will close.
Do you know where I can get a door actuator from and how much they go for?

I forget, but I think new ones were over $100. I got mine used off ebay for $25 shipped. Your best bet is buying one used, so check people parting out cars in the classifieds section, dsmtrader, etc. The actuators are the same for all 2G's. It's a bit of a pain to install since it's inside the door and your working in a tight space.

I had to take my power lock units out and free everything up and grease up the moving points. Mine would move part way then stop and the manual button was very hard to move. After cleaning and greasing everything up they work fine now. They are a pain to get out though. One bolt in particular is real tricky to get to but using a 1/4 ractchet and tiny motions you can get it out. I found a procedure on removing these things somewhere. Maybe on vfaq?

Good luck
