Well i cant find the answer to my question with the search feature, so I decided to ask around before i tear apart the tranny. In my haynes manual to remove the TOB it says to simply detach the fork from the ball stud and then pull the bearing off but I've tried and tried to do this and couldnt.
I tried using a pry bar to pull the TOB off the sleeve and it actually started to move the input shaft off the sleeve and this made me think that there should not be a "lip' on the input shaft sleeve.
I've attached pictures of the lip and sleeve that I'm talking about and I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction as about what to do? Is it possible to replace the sleeve? If so, should i take my tranny to shop and pay them to replace the sleeve or is it DIYable? My friend seems to think we can simply pull the sleeve off but i would think that it would be a little more complicated than that.
Also if someone has a part number for the sleeve that would help out alot because the last time i went to the dealership without a P/N they ordered the wrong dowel pins and gaskets.
