So it would appear that i am leaking from the mating surfaces !!!

The Tcase and tranny each have their own unique oil color - so Im not confused and no it’s not the in/out-put seals.

Theres a bead on the center housing i suspect it leaks from the surface that doesnt use a gasket!

Based on the exploded view and the comments made in the 2nd video - and the fact that my Tcase looks like it was sealed with sealant, i can conclude the middle housing to rear housing just uses some sort of RTV

Unlike the middle to front which does has a metal gasket.

But I am asking for clarification

So have any of you had any leaks from the housing mating surfaces ?!

I will take mines apart but I wanted to hear from any of you that may have experienced the same ?

I asume i can just remove the rear housing with out any special consideration.

Thanks

Between the front housing and the mid housing, there is an o-ring, which sits around the boss on the mid housing and seats into the receiving groove in the front housing. The metal shim is just that, a shim that sets the distance of the gears, it does no sealing and no sealant should be used here.

There is RTV between the mid section and tail section, no gasket.

That is correct. And I have never had a leak from the mid/rear housing seal by RTV.
I don't know your case if it's actually leaking from the mating surface of mid/rear housing or not, but one thing it's common is when you overfill the t-case fluid or use very thick fluid in t-case, the fluid easily come out from the breather by buildup pressure, and the breather is located just right above the mating surface of mid/rear housing and the fluid come down by the the mating surface line. That would make it looks like as if the leak is occurring at the mating surface of mid/rear housing.

Cool thanks for confirming!

I was wondering if perhaps 🤔 it’s only leaking from one of the bolts

And it makes it look like it’s the whole surface

Stupid copper washers always leak - got the aluminum ones recently!

That is correct. And I have never had a leak from the mid/rear housing seal by RTV.
I don't know your case if it's actually leaking from the matching surface of mid/rear housing or not, but one thing it's common is when you overfill the t-case fluid or use very thick fluid in t-case, the fluid easily come out from the breather by buildup pressure, and the breather is located just right above the matching surface of mid/rear housing and the fluid come down by the the matching surface line. Thanks 🙏 and good point!

But mines is just been on the lift/ jack stands for months i don’t think it’s from over flow or pressure .
