So last summer i put my eclipse on the road (turbo awd) and second gear always had this problem where it would grind if you shifted it to fast into second. ok whatever. then first gear started to grind when you down shifted into it, alright no more downshifting into first, whatever. then third just went, you could shift into it but it would grind NO MATTER WHAT even sitting still pushing in the clutch if you tried to touch third it will grind BUt it will still shift into third it's just noisy and slow to get into. so i decided this i couldn't live with and i'd have to fix so i replaced the master cylinder thinking maybe the clutch wasn't disengaging all the way, did absolutely nothing. then i changed the gear oil again (because i did at the beginning of the summer to try and fix second) this time with syncromesh, absolutely nothing changed. then the clutch went and i put everything off until now and was happy just driving the winter beater anywayz. so about a week ago some lady in a minivan rearended my 1984 318i i've been driving all winter leaving the car driveable but technically "totaled". so i've decided to go with a 2600 and the new xact flywheel and a new fork. now i'm wondering would a worn fork pivot point be what caused all my problems?????? or is my tranny trashed and time for a rebuild? if it's time for a rebuild i wil probably send it out to shep in ohio, normally i'm a DIY person but this is one thing i want done right if i'm gonna have it done. so could the fork be all my problems?? and who has had the shep rebuild and is it worth it?? thanks alot
