tranny problems

Heres ### happend i was driving on the freeway and as i was commin off i put the car in neutral and coasted to the light the light turned green and i hit the gas forgetting that it was in N so i put it in D while the RPMs was like at 5k the car jerked and i hit the gas agin and nothing the tranny stopped working none of the gears work i was thinking it is the TC

What kind of noises does it make? Are you sure you didn't brake an axle?

+1 to broken axle or could be stripped gears in the differential, 5k is alot of torque, Easiest way to check would be put on jack stands and while running engage the tranny (Make sure the stands are setup correctly to allow both axles to rotate) to see if one of the drive axles rotates if it does you may need to have the differential worked on.

both axles r in good shape i lifted up the front of the car with both wheels off the ground shited it in 2 drive and nothing happens

sounds to me like you broke the main shaft in the tranny, does it make a rattle noise or a scraping?

If even reverse doesn't work then the output shaft is a likely candidate. The output shaft on my Talon's auto was heavily worn after 183,000 miles without a neutral drop.

I have saved the URL to this thread for the next time some newbie asks about launching with a neutral drop.

You probly just burned out the clutches or broke them, time for a junkyard tranny swap.

Yea, Hi rev launch starts on a F4A22 automatic from "N" to "D" is prob detrimental to the smaller inner workings of the tranny.

Bet the "planet" gears in the ring gear assembly went "Ka-BOOM' with that launch.
