I finally got my JDM motor bolted into my bay, and I'm nearly ready to start filling her up. I don't know what kind of fluid to fill the Transfer Case or Transmission with.

Any help?

Alright, thanks! I appreciate it. I'm off tomarrow to get, what I hope to be, the last of what I need to get her running, but do you know what I can expect those two fluids to cost (in the ammount that I'll need to fill both the Tranny and Transfer case)?

I'll find out tomarrow when I go, but it would be nice to have an idea beforehand.

I don't know about Reline But the syncro mesh is roughly 10 a bottle you'll probably need 3 bottles for the tranny

just get 3 bottles (3litres) of synchromesh like defiant said, you could you 2.5 in the tranny and just under .5 in the transfer case, 3 bottles total did both my tranny and xcase.

If it's a manual, Pennzoil Synchromesh for the transmission and Red Line 75W/90 Gear Oil for the transfer case.

Would you recommend the same fluids for a stock '95 GSX also? :dsm:

I use BG Syncroshift II in the tranny and Amsoil 75W-90 gear oil in the transfer case. I could definitely feel an improvement from both fluids over whatever generic BS was in there when I got the car.

it really doesnt matter if u use bg syncroshift, syncromesh or redline mtl. so watever u decide to put in will be fine even if ur vehicle is stock. u are just replacing fluids with a better quality oil.

Does anyone know of a good site where i can purchase these fluids for a good price? Autozone only had one quart for the synchromesh and they dont carry Redline gear oil. Thanks.

Sometimes napa has bg products which are very good but expensive. I personnaly think it's worth it though. Don't know about penzoils syncro fluild but I wouldn't put there motor oil in my lawn mower. Ask any experienced mechanic about penzoil and you will see why I refuse to use any of their products.

Then penzoil syncromesh fluid is the same as the BG syncromesh fluid.
