because the title of the thread is not "Does anyone know if you can convert a 2G FWD to an 2G AWD?" its "Trannies for RWD". does that answer your question? go ask your question in the newbie section.witalon said:Why was that a moronic post I'm new with this and I'm just asking a question. Give me a break. An answer would be nice.

you need the adaptor plate and the flexplate. use a th-350. they are physically smaller and have better gearing in my opinion.blight said:All right i don't know how i missed this thread but thanx "GRNDSM" for the link-
all right this makes it even EASIER for me seeinghat i am starting off with a toyota- 78 corolla with a 5 speed. So the w58 trans- whats the deal ont he adaptor exactly it is still not that clear to me.
also as for the buscher racing adaption plate to a gm auto trans what is that for like a turbo 350 or 400? cause that looks much more like a better swap[ then the yota trans myself just cause i know gm trannies.

and other than that plate what else would i need? I am missing that as well.

I am not Greg, but I would like to think that I had something to do with him getting into this project.
Though, I am sure that at times he is not happy with me for that.If the leftovers our shop tosses are typical, scrap dealers should have a lot of odd shaped remains. Whether or not they sell to the public is outside my knowledge, since I get it at the source.iamtall77 said:I just need to figure out where to get some aluminum plate for a reasonable price. Any ideas? Will local metal recyclers have anything like that?
Know any local machinists?
I'm not familiar with the Fiero tranny, but another issue you need to think of is power. Is that tranny capable of supporting the power you intend to make?
. And there was also a very rare '84 Munsie (?) 4sp tranny that was indestructible. I also looked into running the Starion tranny and other Mitsu units, but none was reliable enough at 400+lbft torque.
. Erik P. made pretty good power and torque on his hybrid tranny.
