I searched but want to make sure- I have a 92 eclipse GS 2.0 (NA) I need a tranny. The salvage yards say only a 91-92 will work with a 2.0 so my question is will any 1.8 and 2.0 tranny(fwd) work as long as its non turbo? 90-94? thanks Tug :)

Any 91+ 2 liter NT tranny will work. I dont know why the interchange is different. A 90 will work but you have to change the shifter and shift cables and shift cable brackets to the one out of the 90. I dont think 1.8 liter transmissions will work.

You can use a 1.8 tranny, they are identical. An added bonus is that most 1.8 trannys have had a much easier life behind that gutless 1.8 and the synchros are usually in much better shape. Hope this helps. :talon: :thumb:

yes, both the 2.0 n/a and 1.8 trannys are the same.just the turbo is different.i have one for sale thats just been rebuilt if u need one.l8r.
