So, i've been away from dsm tuners, but my vdub jetta cant makeup to the power and the love of my Talon. In illinois where i live there aren't any Talons and most people dont know who makes it. Tragically, my Talon took a crap on me. I let one of my friends drive my car at night. Without my knowledge the fuse popped for the Dash lights he wanted to get the car back so he rigged the fuse with a wire creating a unfusable link. That link ended up shorting and lighting 3 fires on fire for almost 2 feet under the hood. Anyway, instead of shrink wrapping the wires back together he showed up with the whole fusebox in my hand . I blame myself the damage to my car. I redid the harness as best i could and the turn signal was always on and so was the fog light(pulled the bulbs), not to mention the windows rolled up and down without the key and the heat turns on. Well i drove the car and found out that the fans weren't working. The car did great for a while and got me to where i was going. Well, the manifold got so hot that it melted the fans, the fans melting to the radiator cause it to get hole and began leaking. I parked the old lady at my girlfriends house and went to get it towed to a local mechanic knowing in my head damn well that i could fix it. When the tow-truck showed up a young ignorant guy showed up and put the flatbed down tearing up the grass and exclaiming." Isn't that what grass is for?" I smiled and in my head i called him a *&$K and continued to watch him tow my car, he lifted the flatbed almost 90 degrees and began pulling my fmic and my front bumper off. Well long story short he said thats what you get for having a lowered car and left to drop it off. I got 1800 from the insurance company which was a blessing So I called the best electrician for a car that i knew and hes gonna fix the few mixed up wires. So i ordered

I also bought a new alternator (mine is shot from sitting with the lights constantly on)

New thermostat because i didnt want any chance of overheating

Ceramic Rattle can Anyone know where a nice heatshield could be found?

Some brake degreeser for the engine bay cleanup.

The timing was done 5k ago along with ALL REGULAR MAINTENANCE.

I really wanna clean up the engine bay does anyone know what i should start with and how i can organize things and to fix the car so it will be running right?

i hope you get everything in line, i'd much rather see a "car is running great" than Tragedy =/. I hope that the inspiration to fix your car never leaves you.

For fixing the wires all i can say is soder your connections than heat shrink you will never worry about loose connections from crimps. I would even the wires out and bundle them nice than tape with scotch 33 or 88 tape. Take your time it will be worth it in the end. just my opinion good luck.
