My best time w/ the stock T25 is 14.4@99MPH.

My new best time w/ the 16G is 14.00@103MPH. This was w/ zero tuning and pump gas. I had higher expectations but I have serious boost creep issues at the moment.

According to my logger I was pulling timing big time up top.

You too huh. I can't even tune for top end because of the boost creep. Nothing like hitting 25-30psi. at 5k to ruin your day. now I have to take the turbo back off to get the 34mm wastegate installed.

make sure its not done in vain. I've read a few guys that have done this and STILL experienceing creep :thumbdown

I just got through running a 14.202 @ 108mph, and a 14.4 @ 105mph! My sixites were 2.4-2.6 all night long. At least you are better off than me. Next time I go to the track, I have to ditch these 18in kumhoes. Sorry about that echo.:D

108 mph traps are good for low 13s , get some drag radials and your set.

So what are my options. I'm really pissed right now cause I can't run the car hard. Will pushing 25-30 psi. destroy my motor? The place that sold me the turbo basiclly stated that my turbo flows to well now and that it can't get rid of the boost fast enough. With a 16g I didn't think an external wastegate would be needed. I feel like I have to have a masters degree to work on these cars.

Yea youre right. I'm thinking about getting some BFGs or Toyos on my stockers. I really want slicks, but since this is my daily driver, I don't need to break any axles or transmissions.

Did you get a larger wastegate flapper? What o2 housing is it? Is it ported out? What exhaust?

Just asking out of curiosity... I've heard complaints over the years about boost creep with small, big, and evo 16gs, and every time it's been due to someone slacking off on one of those things. I made sure I had the 34mm flapper, ported o2, and a 2.5" to 3" turbo-back exhaust, and I never had boost creep issues with my small 16g. <shrug>

No I didn't get the larger wastegate. I have the EVO manifold, o2 housing which were port matched and a full 3" exhuast with a 3" CAT. I was told this is the problem because it flows "to well" and that its too much for the wastegate in there. I now have to take the turbo off and have the 34mm wastegate installed. So how bad is 22-25psi on astock motor anyway? LOL

I hope you have the tune down. As long as your not knocking, 22psi wont hurt the car. However, once you get around 25psi, unless you have arp's, your head is going to start lifting. I would personally get it fixed before boosting that.

geesh i run open downpipe on a mall 16g 7cm housing. i creep to 19psi

i have ported the turbine housing and slightly ported the o2 sensor housing and I also ported around the WG flapper door.

i thought the evo 3 16g creeped less but your running fully ported everything, plus a cat, and you still creep higher. interesting..
