@ the track with new 16g... 14.2@95mph

since the last time i brought my awd tsi to the track, all ive done is add a big16g and a 190 pump. my last time on the t25 was 15.2, but then again, i was running too much boost (17ish) with leaks AND my turbo died that same night when i got back!

im still on stock exhaust (im getting there.. $$$) but i think i shouldve done a little better, at least high 13's. normally i wouldnt complain about a 14.2, im ok with it, but a friend of mine raced his talon (tsi awd) and got the same time, 14.2. On the t25. :cry:

all he had was: intake, high flow cat, bov (i think), an act 2600 and 15psi. granted, hes a bit better driver than i, i think he was pullin 1.7-1.8's in the 60', but 14.2 is still pretty frickin good.

any thoughts? will full exhaust and porting the turbo (and getting a bigger flapper of course) bring me to low 13's? OMG

the thing is, i HAVE all the supporting mods, just not exhaust or an afc. without exhaust, is the 16g really gimped? it definately takes a lot longer to spool but it pulls way harder.
 
When I first started modding out my 2g ,the very first two things I changed were the bov and 3/4 of the exhaust system.

Now my car sports a three inch exhaust from front to back wich makes a huge difference for any turbo car ,, especially after I got my hands on a three inch o2 and downpipe.

All talons and eclipses will run stupid fast if you just address the flow issues.
For example replace all the piping from the intake side and the exhaust side to better free flowing units.

Once all thats done I would suggest getting the fuel issue taken care of i.e injectors pump and afpr, with bigger fuel lines.

Once you have all that you will see that turbo performe at top percent , but until you get a good exhaust system ,all you'll see is 14 second passes.
 
Let me tell you something.

exhaust makes a world of a difference. i went from stock, to 2.5" turboback, and back to stock for a short amount of time, and the difference is night and day.

You had a good run there man, 1.9 60' is alright. you just need that exhaust to open you up, and you have 13's in the bag.
 
You're not gonna get anything out of that 16g with a stock exhaust. I know you had to get a new turbo since your old one died, but don't expect much out of it until you have ALL of the supporting mods - not just some. Turbo cars need a complete supporting cast in order to perform well.

What was the break down of your run (time-wise)?

ps. the reason for the crappy RT was that, when id rev up (to 5k or so), my car would kind of creep forward and off the line just barely, so id let off it, only to see that the lights were going off... this happend more than once. might have something to do with my bad master/slave cyls. not that im having issues shifting or anything really, just that the clutch acts kinda weird sometimes.
