Just felt like bumping this.

I'm not afraid to cut the shit out of my bumper/s/ so I am gonna go ahead and buy the tow strap.

I'll post pics!

any updates?
i got a tow hook of a friend from a vw and i went out and tried to get a nut that would match the eye bolt and i had no luck, i have no idea of the size and pitch i tried everything from lowe's to home depot and nothing.

I plan on using one of these mounts, bolted/welded to the frame where the front bumper brackets are.

More than likely style E81-4 or E81-7/10, just need to do some measurements and decide which will work better. Will probably take a look this week when I remove the A/C.

The front should be easy, rear is the problem IMO.

I do like these too from the same website for tie downs while towing instead of putting stress on your suspension bits.

but pretty bad a$$ idea and UNIQUE

i always tow my 2g's from the hole thats on the bottom of the front motor mount

check your doors and trunk i bet its full of the dsm stickers no matter if its N/T or turbo its a dsm....

remember dsm is mitsubishi and chrysler and your engine is chrysler and the chassy is mitsubishi come on bro LOL...

IF THEIR BRANDED DSM'S FROM THE FACTORY THEN THEY ARE DSM'S...AND THATS IT

So my 99 gst wasnt branded DSM does that make it not a DSM? I think not.:nono:

The drift guys have been doing this for a while, kinda cool idea but definitely kind of bulky to have on all the time.

Standing by...

Why would it not be...? The year 1999 was the last year of the true DSM before the body style was changed.

The original post is a creative idea, but personally I think having something like that sticking out all the time looks silly and detracts from the vehicle's overall appearance. I bet if you were to take a shot of the whole car, you would find yourself distracted by the "tow hook"

I like the idea of having one where it can be removed when not needed.

As for the DSM argument; Some of you need to get off the arrogant "turbo cars are better than the n/a" high horse and realize that they were all designed and built under the joint effort of Chrysler/Mitsubishi and share the same body codes. Now, "DSM" was dissolved around 1995 and went into just a Mitsubishi Plant... but guess what? They STILL built the n/a cars right alongside the turbo ones. Don't believe me; then here's a link that gives the entire history. This is like the GMC/Chevy argument. LOL. Ok, well.. GMC's are made with love. So I guess they are better. ;)
