oh yeah it does everything more than my dads $200 obd2 reader, you can even see you intake manifold degrees, o2 sensor volts, timing advance you name it its there

I know this thread is almost a year old, but my question is, what can the Torque app specifically do on DSMs? As we all know that not all of the apps features are available for the DSM. Can someone list what it can do on our cars? Couldn't find that info in my searches.

Also, does anyone know of an app that works for 1g OBD I cars?

Torque Pro Specifically lists OBD2 inside of the program. Also, I do not see any OBD1 bluetooth adapters for sale. Other than the custom made piece in the first link. And at $125 it may be hard to justify.

As alluded to earlier, OBDI protocols and hardware connections are proprietary to each vehicle manufacturer, unlike OBDII which is a universal standard as federally mandated. So there isn't an "OBDI app" and there isn't likely to be one as you'd need specific interface hardware and software for every vehicle manufacturer (GM, Ford, Chrysler and each of the foreign mfrs).
The reason an app like Torque can exist is because the same protocol and hardware will work with every US-spec vehicle made from '96 and up."

Keep in mind that you can add custom defined pids(if you know what you are doing) and add other Items to be logged in addition to the already defined Items.

Wouldn't that mean you essentially have a $25 boost gauge? Among other things?

The stock mdp isn't that accurate. If you wire in a gm map and have the correct formula then its a different story.

I just got this adapter today, and I can say it works really well there's almost no delay between my tach, and torque's tach! This is amazing for the price, and with a 7 inch android tablet it's like have another dash!

You have the odb1 port. So this one in particular won't work, and I'm not sure if they sell an adapter for it either.

Btw, does the elm 327 scan tool (usb) have the capability to be used as a logger?
