took out AC for performance

I took out the AC in my 1g car for performance while the engine was out. Dose any one know if and where i could get a belt for it withought an the AC.

you mean a alternator belt, if so its a seperate belt, it runs the crank alt and wp. not ac
i bought mine at the dealership, than smoked it, and went to the local auto parts store

I thought if you removed the compressor, you didn't need the belt as it just rides on the crank pulley, tensioner and ac commpressor like this doesn't it?

I'm no expert with these new cars by any means, but i'm going to post my opinion anyways. This may work different on these than on my car from 1971 but the power loss from simply having your a/c hooked up is minimal. The noticeable power loss doesn't seem to kick in until the unit is turned on. Just my thoughts and like I stated it may be different on these.
