Mechanic Took screws out of turbo?

my mechanic told me that my turbo is no good in my 2g eclipse and he gave me some little screwes that he took out of it to make it not work until i get a new one. what are these screws and where do they go on the turbo?

Screws? The only thing I can think of is he took off the two bolts that hold the wastegate actuator to the turbo. This way, the wastegate is always open and you won't build any boost.

If the turbo is no good then why would you need to prevent it from building boost? If it builds boost at all then it most work at least a little bit. Sounds like a shady mechanic trying to get you to buy a new turbo so he can install it and make even more money.

yeah idk i know hes a shady mechanic and im tryin to catch him.. its 4 small screws and im not sure where they would go on the turbo he said he took them out to prevent it from working because its bad

Post a pic of the screws and we can tell you for sure.

take a look under your hood and see if the wastegate actuator is still there.

you are getting fcked go back and tell him to put it back cus you care and that he should of never done it whith out your permission,why dont you cheak if the turbo is going bad does it build boost,does it have shaft play and so on
