hey guys i took out my 14b last night at about midnight anyways i took it apart today and the exhast side spins but with metal to metal action its scrapping up the front of it a bit does this mean its a bad turbo shaft play was not alot on the intake side any ideas thots?

you have the exhaust housing off the turbo, what is the exhaust turbine scrapping on?

shaft play is the same on the compressor side and exhaust side of the turbo. they share the same shaft

if you here a scrapping sound but don't see what its rubbing on i would say its a bearing problem. if you see damage to either turbine it is a bearing or balancing problem,

either way it needs rebuilt or replaced unless i have misunderstood you

like i spin it and it just goes but scraps the front part of the turbo like were its crome looking the front part of it. I have my 16g comeing i was just wondering if this could of been my problem of why i was only gettin 5psi

so the scrapping was on the compressor side? the compressor turbine was scrapping on the housing? like the very tips of the fins?

yeah that would greatly opposed flow because at 100k rpm a few ounces sure makes a hell of a differance :thumb:

yup like if u faced it up with the fins in the air it would scrape at the bottom well at lease i know why it wasnt spooling thanks alot and if some one wants to close it they can thanks alot! :)
