I just bought a used Big 16g from someone here on Tuners. It spins freely and has no shaft play...but the turbine looks chewed up. Will it still be good to use? Dude said it only have 750 mi on it.

Yeah this sucks :thumbdown . He seemed ok to me. I just asked for my money back and that I would ship it back to him. I have his # and everything if it comes to that. I hope he feeses up and realizes its crap.

Turbos commonly run at 120,000 RPM. If you boost hard on that for very long, the turbo's bearing will quickly wear out, and you'll have enough shaft play for the wheel to hit the housing.

If possible, see if he'll take it back. If not, report him to goodguybadguy, and send it somewhere for a rebuild and a new wheel.

EDIT: Oh, forgot to explain - the reason it'll fry the bearings is that with the wheel chewed like that, it's no longer properly balanced.

WTF

OMG

You should not run anything that is even half as bad looking. Why would someone sell a product in that condition, unless he told you it needs a rebuild!

You have to ask 21 questions before buying things like that. That thing looks crazy and the seller should have disclosed all of that before you paid. That's not cool at all. I feel your pain. He needs to give your money back.

Well, hes gotten back to me and he seems cool about it and is willing to help. So we will see what we can work out. Thanks for the advice guys.

use it as a door stop or something.

What the flying #### is that????? Looks like that has been through a ####ing meat grinder. That blows-hard.

Hm... heres my newbie guess...

Ied say he left his intake off to feel the "awesome" gain in HP, or so he thought... and "something" perhaps a small animal  got sucked in and ####ed the blades to shit....

anyways... how much did you pay? Did he not send pics before hand?

Hmmm looks kinda like my turbo

hehee just kidding

man that totally sucks...maybe i missed it but where did you buy this from?

I got a hold of Forced performace and they said it should be fine with just a new wheel. The seller said he would pay for the new wheel so its all working out.
