So after the shop I took my car to didn't put oil back into my transmission and it blew, I've ordered a teamrip Stage 2.5 Rebuilt transmission and Have it ready to put in. ALthough, I pulled my transmission yesterday and I am just curious if you can tell if my clutch is ok from the transmission seizing. This is an XTD Stage 1 clutch that I bought brand new and has about 3-4 Thousand miles on it. I Just want to see if it's possible to tell if my clutch is ok without having to pull off the clutch cover, due to not having the clutch alignment tool anymore. Thanks guys

Ive had 2 XTD clutches before and my first one lasted about 6 months, the second one the pads fell apart and the springs fell out, im not saying its gonna happen to yours but most likely it wont last too long.

I would just replace it with a good quality brand or at least a stocker and an OEM throwout bearing while everything is out.

So, how can we tell u if the clutch is ok if we don't see it, at least look between the pressure plate and the flywheel to see how thick is the thing, missing spot or something. and alignement tool is not so necessary to align a clutch, just center it by eye the best that you can and tranny will come in .... thats the way i do and never had so much trouble to put tranny in.

well when I get home I'll have to throw off off the pressure plate. I apologize but I Don't know much about clutches, I only know how to install them and what they do LOL. But I don't know how to see if they're damaged or worn out. I will pull off my pressure plate tomorrow and see how it looks underneath.

[UPDATE]

Took the clutch out. To me it looks pretty bad for 3-5 thousand miles.

I'm going to at least make the shop pay for a new clutch beings I had to eat 2 1000 dollar transmissions now.

My Opinion, I'm going with something with kevlar / carbon or something of the sort from now on.

Alright, a little off subject on the clutch itself. But I called the shop who in my opinion, is to blame for the transmission seizing. (The way I conclude this is because My car transmission was fine until I took it to get my oil pan leak fixed. They dropped the transfer case and their new tech didn't put oil back into the x-fer case and when i picked it up immediately it was vibrating.I took it back up there to get it inspected a week later, at their convenience. they replaced the transfer case with one that looked like it sat in a junkyard for 20 years. But anyways, the vibration never went away and eventually blew my transmission within 2 weeks.) But I called to see beings I bought a whole new transmission, if they'd just buy me a clutch and we'll call it even. They pretty much said #### off we don't owe you anything. Now my main question. If you drop the transfer case, don't put oil in it and put it back in, and drive on it for a week, "COULD" it #### up your transmission? I'm not saying will it 100% but isn't there a 50/50 chance that it would #### up shafts and synchros and what not? I'm only asking b/c I don't know what goes on inside and between the transmissin/transfer case.
And I'm wondering if it'd be even worth it to take them to court over this, because this shop and I Have been having issues for the past year.
