Does my ECU look ok?

I have been having idle problems recently. I notice on startup that my ISC reads 95 on mmcd. My idle start out around 1500. After a few minutes the ISC reads and stays at 64 on mmcd and my idle is around 700. If I turn on my headlights, AC or any other accessory my idle drops down to 550-600 and my ISC reading on mmcd stays around 64.

I removed my ISC today and checked each coil, reading were 38-40 ohms. I also pulled my ECU today and opened it up. I noticed 3 extra screws lodged between the ECU board and the metal case. Maybe these were causing some contacts to short out? I also have a few pictures of places that could be causing some problems.

Ive also been plagued by long starting issues recently as well. Coolant temp reads normal in mmcd, I just redid the wiring to the CTS. i haven't checked the fuel pressure, but if my ecu looks bad then I think it would be the best place to start.

Looks like some nasty corrosion, and if my eyes serve me right, maybe some DIY solder job on 989B

I would send these pics to Tom at ECMtuning and see what he thinks. They also do great jobs repairing ECU's

Had mine repaired just a couple weeks ago!

Yeah that isn't looking very good. I would second on sending pics to Tom for an estimate of repair. ECMtuning has some pics on the site of what to look for on ECU's.

Ok thanks guys, I guess this is what I wanted to hear. I looked back through my parents file, and sure enough the ECU was repaired in 2001.

I'll probably just look around for a non-EPROM ecu for the time being.

Yeah it's be repaired for sure. Some one one was desperate to save that one. They used wire to connect components together because the traces were broken probably by corrosion. Once the caps leak once it's game over. People don't usually know there blown till it's to late.

I was gonna say they looked pretty desperate there. I had to get mine going once and did the same thing. Even raided an old vcr for some parts. It was my dd, and my only car at the time.
