what?Stapl3 said:what?

Yes there is. I'm in the middle of swapping out my TO4E with a TO4S/anti-surge port because my GT12 (56 trim) was surging due to the size of the SBR bolt-on housing, one might not have this issue with full Garretts.definitiveno said:I realize the gt30r is a mid frame wheel where as the T04S is typically found on gt35r's and the likes. I am wondering if there is any benifit to be found with this housing over a T04E.
What's up oldman....oldman said:Yes there is. I'm in the middle of swapping out my TO4E with a TO4S/anti-surge port because my GT12 (56 trim) was surging due to the size of the SBR bolt-on housing, one might not have this issue with full Garretts.

Thinking about it, can't really afford it yet. Time line all depends on whether this T04S will solve my surge. I have also spoken to Robert at FP about converting my GT30 to a FP type setup, keeping my options open for now.definitiveno said:Hey, I remember the other day you were mentioning a possible swap to full garrett. Check out this turbo ive been lookin at....
Thing looks pretty bad ass eh? Kcuf a SBR housing,
That doesn't really say anything.I have been told to never purchase a GT30 BB set up without anti surge ports, I wish I had been told this at the time of purchase so I didn't have to find out the hard way.definitiveno said:BTW if the surge ports are the only benefit you know the TO4E is offered with them too.....
I dont' care if you get the biggie GT40-DD Comp housing.. I'm still gonna lay the hurt on you with my whimpy little 50-trim come springoldman said:Yes there is. sunflashx said:My FP3065 would surge in 4th gear if I was going from a lower rpm rolling start. So don't count on it completely eliminating it. Most of my time was spent in the 24-25 psi range. It's a little over that where you end up hitting that surge part of the curve.
I'm sure it will help, but I wouldn't count on it eliminating your problem completely.
Yep, mine comes on between about -5 to +5 psi.Slippi84 said:I don't know about your car or even that the 3065 came with the kind of surge ported cover we're talkin about but the surge that you get doesn't come on at high psi it's at partial throttle driving.
Wow, have a look at that....sunflashx said:
