to spyder or not to spyder

Ok 1st off let me say i luv me some dsm i have owned about 4-5 talon/eclipse 1st and 2nd gens however i found a 97 gst spyder that im thinking about snagging up. apon lookin around i noticed there are not many people that seem to fix up (customize) the spyder is there some reason for this that im not aware of or thinking of, ??????????? someone got any insite on this b4 i jump into this car ?

my guess is b/c they are heavier and someone who is trying to get the most speed out of the car wont want the extra weight. I like having a vert. My goal is only around 300whp and I dont make trips to the track so Im not worried about added weight. Its up to you

well yeah it is a little heavier but it still has a 4g63 and it's easy to do an awd conversion

I love my spyder!!!!
My goal is 300WHP as well, I plan on taking it to the track but I am not out to run tens.

and I think its only like 80-100 pounds heavier than a non vert

thanks for the info guys, i love the look of the spyder just didnt know if there was anything diff like with body mods ect i sure didnt know about the weight diff but not a big deal to me i have a gsxr1000 when i need to go that fast

thats what I used to say haha.. I had a 05 gsxr 100 until some ####tard stole it.

on consumerautoguide it says the spyder is 2888 and the hatchback is 2767

The reason the Spyder does not weigh all that much more than the hardtop is that Mitsubishi designed it from the frame up instead of just modifying the hardtop itself.
