Timing belt tensioner

why not just buy an OEM one online from a reputable shop, like extremepsi? Even IF the car parts stores have an OEM grade tensioner, the price would be a lot more. I'd put money on them only having a generic part though. Timing parts for these engines are really critical, sure there are cheaper versions of the same parts that will fit and work...but why take the chances of a catastrophic timing failure vs an extra $100, or a few days to a week, VS the same costs and time if not more if you bend your valves.

just so you know

ebay tensioner - $40
OEM tensioner $110

Are the parts at extremepsi real OEM parts? I'm very new to all these vendors so yeah... thank! Sorry I can't help on the original post but I second buying OEM parts!

Not that I'm aware of but I second extremepsi they have just about everything and they're prices are pretty good...don't take the cheap route...trust me it's not worth it!

Thanks guys! I'm sure you understand being a hair nervous when approaching a new retailer for parts. I already ordered from them and I can't wait to get some things fixed!

Thanks guys I orderd mine from the DSMGraveyard took something like 25 days from the time I orderd it tell the time it arrived but oh well its on the car and running great!I think the OEM ones for the six bolt have 533 stamped on them not sure if its a part number or what but thats what the said that I took off and put on.
