alright so i just rebuilt the bottem end and had to set the timing when the engine was out of the car. the only tensioner i had was a junk yard one so i am replaceing it now. my question is if i only pull of the tensioner do i have to reset the timing? in my opinion the timing belt wont move on either gear so everything should be ok just trying to get someone elses opinion.

If the only part you are pulling is the tensioner then you will be fine probably. just dont loosen the bolt that holds the tensioner pulley or it will loosen the belt a lot.

Just make sure you double check all your timing marks when you are done, if it does manage to skip a tooth its not very hard to do the timing.

Here is a pictorial for timing: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/art...l-installing-timing-timing-belt-6bolt-2g.html

thats what i figured i know how to set the timing.. ill just be sure to check everything when im done if everything lines up then will be all set.
