Timing Belt Swap - I know, read the VFAQ!

Car - 1998 Eclipse GS-T; 45,000 miles

I am getting to do my timing belt on my 2G for the first time. I am in the process of ordering all of my parts and came across a few questions. I was using the list from this sight under maintenance, but can not find a "Idler Pulley" listed in any part ordering websites. Is this the same thing as the timing belt tensioner pulley? I have been driving myself nuts trying to look at engine diagrams on the parts ordering website (mitsubishiparts.com), but I can not come up with anything that I would call and idler pulley. My only guess is would be the pulley on the idler arm for the accessory drive, but I can not locate that in the parts directory to save my life (no idea what they have the accessory drive system located under).

My other question would be does anyone have any suggestions on where to order OEM parts from? I went through the list on here, and some of the places do not appear to be in business anymore (Tallahassee).

rockauto seems to have what i think your looking for listed as a timing idler.

check them out, they have pics of there parts, maybe you can match with what your wanting to replace.

Timing belt idler pulley (not same as tensioner pulley). It is the one on the other side of timing belt across from tensioner pulley. Factory part #MD156604.

thanks for the part number luv2ralleye. I have been looking at mitsubishiparts.com, but cringe at their shipping costs (15%!!!). That's another $100 on top of the 7 bills it is going to cost me to do the timing belt / water pump.

No, it's $32.74 plus shipping at Mitsubishi Parts | OEM Mitsubishi Parts | Genuine Mitsubishi Parts. But I'd think any autostore (Autozone, Napa, etc) would have it if you don't mind aftermarket (I personally won't use aftermarket on internal engine parts however, especially the water pump!).

Rockauto.com has the entire kit for like $70. Comes with both belts and all the pulleys/idlers.

Rock auto also has good prices you should check them out I got a gates timing belt (the black OE style) for like $30. Part number on belt was t167.
