So I recently bought a 92 Stealth that has been garaged for 11 years. The timing belt was replaced and only 50 miles put on it before the car was stored.

Would that belt still be reliable? Or does it need an immediate replacement?

And if so, would it be a risk driving the needed 10 miles to get it to a know mechanic to replace it?

So a belt failure is pretty bad, of course, assuming it is interference like the 4g63. Can you just take the upper cover off and inspect it? I bought my car in Florida and drove it 2,200 miles home, so if it were me, 10 miles no worries. But get it replaced asap, cause why not, can’t hurt.

to replace it > ?
There is no good way to answer this. Time isn't good either even with no miles. The manner in which it was stored would be the issue. Furthermore the fact that it hasn't moved at all in a decade probably doesn't help it. If it were me I would tow it and replace it before ever starting. I bought a car with a 14 year old belt and I did not care to drive it 2 miles. I did it but it sat until I changed the belt the following week.

Yeah that is what I was thinking.

I am getting the gas tank cleaned right now, since what was once gas is now some storage form of acetone, and the tank was pretty well rusted. Once that is professional cleaned, I am going to use a sealer on it, and replace the line and filter. Then test it properly by running it, but not driving for a short period of time.

The car did start with starting fluid for about 30 seconds, but until I fix the fuel issue there is no way to tell how it performs. Also the fuel pump was replaced, and the fuel sending unit was restored.

I knew there were going to be hurdles in getting this car, but wanted it due to the price, and the rarity of its color /-)
