Timing belt install prboblems.

I am installing a timing belt after removing the head and putting it back on. I have AEM cam gears. I got the cam gears aligned and the belt put on those, then on the oil pump, then on the crankshaft. I have loosened the tensioner pulley and used a allen wrench to position it to where it would be the loosest. I can't for the life of me get the timing belt over the tensioner pulley. What am I missing?

Do you have the hydraulic tensioner collapsed? Can you post some pics of where you are at right now?

might have to completely take the tensioner pulley out route the belt and then put it in

i just removed the tensioner pin assembly and put the belt on the tensioner pulley then screwed the pin assembly back in and it worked perfectly.

in order to properly do that job without problems that is an important step just make sure that you adjusted it right.
