Ok, so I have the engine fully built, now its time to pick the turbo and wastegate, mani, etc. so far I have an eagle crank knife edged, manley I-beam rods, and manley pistons, 8.5to 1. 272 cams, port polish etc. I am building this engine for a time attack car and have been considering the pt6262 cea ball bearing turbo. I want something to put out big power but not spool too late. If I go with this turbo, I am confused as to what wastegate would be needed. looking to run it around 40psi. Thanks for any insight or suggestions.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you want a smaller turbo for time attack? Something along the lines of a 20g/50 trim?

Fp3052 would be a nice one to look at, I believe they changed the name though. Something like DSM 76hta, its DBB.

^ Exactly. Honestly, I would stick with a quick spooling turbo (evo3/20g), or even get an HTA68 or a billet 20g :/

40psi on a time attack car is just asking for it, i would recommend figuring out what class you are going to be competing in to know if you have any power/weight restrictions and base your decision on that. You should also look into the Borg Warner EFR series of turbos, if you want quick spook and good power.

Thanks for all the input guys, I have ran the evo 3 16g in the past, and it is an awesome turbo, I was just looking for something with a lil more kick to it. Its tough because there are so many choices out there, makes it hard to pick just one, LOL.

I am considering making a EVO10 bolt on manifold. They are bad ass turbos and reasonably priced. Plus FP and others make upgrades to the stock frame.
