Ticking in engine bay

Whenever my cars in idle i hear a ticking sound coming from the engine bay. I popped the hood and it seems to be coming from the driver side so im guessing the timing belts or maybe crankshaft? After about 3 minutes or so of clicking, it'll stop a run smoothly for a few minutes but tehn pick up with the clicking again.

This has been like this for a bout a week now and just not am starting to get worried.

Most likely it's lifter tick. There is a couple of temporary and/or ineffective solutions.

Permanent fix is to update to 3g lifters.

Short term no. Long term, not really. To be quite honest, you'll have bigger problems to worry about before the lifter tick becomes an issue. And you'll have fixed the lifter tick issue when you fix the bigger problem. Regardless, it's more of an annoyance than anything else. Just make sure you're giving your car the correct oil regularly.

Check the EGR and fuel vapor recovery solenoids on the firewall.

CHECK OUT THE TECH GUIDES, THERE IS AN ARTICLE THERE ON THE FAMOUS TICKING OF THE 4G63. ITS ABOUT A VERY CHEAP FIX THAT MIGHT WORK OUT FOR YOU. I WOULD GIVE THAT A TRY BEFORE BURNING CASH ON SOMETHING THAT MIGHT NOT BE THE CASE.
